How to find the best hand cream for the winter

Many of us are guilty of not putting much thought into or giving our hands the same tender love and care as our faces. Considering our hands receive the biggest battering compared to the rest of our bodies especially during winter, it is important to make choosing a hand cream that is right for you a top priority.
Regular hand washing and constant exposure to the elements can take a serious toll on our skin, and more often than not will leave your hands looking and feeling cracked and dehydrated. Using a nourishing and moisturising hand cream daily not only keeps your hands soft and hydrated, but helps to prevent signs of ageing, boost elasticty, soothe cracked cuticles, mend brittle nail beds, and with the right ingredients can also prevent sun damage and skin spots.

Luckily for us it is never too late to add a hand cream to your daily routine and save your palms from becoming a total disaster. To help you keep your hands looking youthful and pretty this season, we’ve rounded up our top Natura Siberica hand creams for every need and budget.

Natura Siberica Extra-Firming Hand Cream

It’s important to not only look look at your complexion when it comes to improving skin elasticity, texture and suppleness. Like the age old saying goes, our hands age the fastest and often give away our age more than any other body part – and nobody wants that! Keep everyone guessing by slipping our Natura Siberica Extra-Firming Hand Cream into your hand bag. With the help of adaptogens, Siberian Ginseng and Limonnik Nanai these two powerhouse ingredients work to tone, rejuvenate, soothe and nourish even the most driest of skin. This hand cream is also COSMOS Certified Organic, making it a perfect addition to your daily beauty routine.

Natura Siberica Northern Collection Review

Another collection from one of my favourite Cruelty Free brands, the Natura Siberica Northern Collection is totally unique. These products are black in colour, and although they seem unusual they are absolutely genius when it comes to skin cleansing products – and they smell epic!

Black Cleansing Butter

“Northern Black Cleansing Butter transforms into a silky cleansing milk when in contact with water, gently and effectively cleansing the face. Charcoal absorbs impurities and cleanses pores, Organic Linen Oil is both nourishing and softening. Organic Oils of Siberian Pine and Altai Sea Buckthorn, combined with Wild Rhodiola Rosea leave skin enviably soft and resilient. Skin is clean and supple, revealing a radiant complexion.”

I LOVE this cleanser. Partly becuase the consistency reminds me of Nutella, but mainly due to the fact is a ridiculously beautiful cleanser. Removing makeup is effortless, and it leaves skin actually feeling hydrated rather than stripped. The Black Cleansing Butter comes with a little spatula to scoop out the product, and I just warm it in my hands and massage over the face – literally all makeup is removed instantly and my skin feels so soft! I use a small dollop (pictured) and this is enough to cleanse my entire face – then remove with a flannel or wash cloth. The scent is on the sweeter side, but still has a slight floral undertone – and I’m pretty sure i can smell a hint of chocolate too…. Either way it is heavenly. Not overly fragranced or perfumed, but enough to entice me to keep randomly smelling it each time I’m around the bathroom!

Northern Soap for Deep Facial Cleansing

“Featuring highly absorbent activated carbon to draw impurities from deep within the skin. Enriched with unique and powerful wild harvested herbs and berries from Northern Siberia. Natura Siberica’s Northern Soap will leave your skin super clean and sparkling.”

Super duper clean and sparkling! I actually leave this cleanser on as a sort of face mask, and you can literally see it working! The Northern Soap comes with a “sponge” as an applicator, and it is brilliant. Damp the sponge, and the product slides out and onto the skin like butter. The sponge does dry like a brick afterwards so it does need to be damp, but this application is fabulous! My skin feels so clean and detoxed after using this, but still soft and hydrated. I follow with the Royal Caviar Collection and these 4 products combined is amazing. A black face cleansing mask may look a little scary if the doorbell rings, but the results are astonishing. My often dull complexion and combination skin looks so radiant and healthy. And for the scent – wow. I actually make excuses to smell this as often as possible. I would say marzipan, but it’s actually sweeter – like a bakewell or a battenburg. It is beyond words – it takes me to a happy place.

There are 6 products in the Northern Collection, all unique in their own way and all pretty affordable. There are products for every skin type (as mentioned I have combination skin that can be sensitive, and tend to have a dull complexion if that is anything to go by), and they’re not just black – there are white options too! (…) Because of their unique formulation and application styles they last for such a long time. As unique and unusual as this collection may be, these products are so addictive.

Just Beautiful!

Natura Siberica Oblepikha & Honey Body Scrub

I love a good body scrub. I regularly exfoliate twice a week during the winter as my skin tends to be more dull, dry and ashy.

I’m a big fan of Natura Siberica and I recently purchased their Oblepikha & Honey Body Scrub, 300ml.

This luxurious scrub filled with organic Altai oblepikha oil, organic honey and organic sage extract is a great natural remedy to deeply purify and renew the skin, while enhancing its elasticity and making it soft and gentle to the touch.

Altai oblepikha is a century old recipe for the beauty of skin and hair. The oil is produced by cold press from selected sea-buckthorn berries harvested in Kluchevsk region of Altai krai. This Siberian berry contains fatty acids omega 3, 6, 9 in high concentration, the rare omega 7 fatty acid, which can usually be found in plants and precious flavonoids.

It has softening, protective, moisturizing, antioxidant, regenerating and anti-inflammatory properties.

This scrub is free from SLS, SLES, Silicones, BHT-BHA, mineral oil, PEG, Parabens, EDTA and no GMO plants were used. Certified organic by the ICEA.

First of all I love the beautiful packaging, definitely eye catching and stands out on any bathroom shelf.

So the first thing I noticed when I opened it was the scent…it has a lovely fruity, honey scent.

The texture is gritty and sticky. What I really liked when I applied to my skin is it stuck well and didn’t just roll off my skin. This also meant I didn’t have to use alot.

I find most salt/sugar scrubs tend to do just roll off and you end up with majority of it in the bath which is such an annoying waste!

It felt really nice as I massaged my skin in the shower, I added a little water and then it turns milky. It rinses off easily and afterwards my skin felt incredibly smooth, soft and hydrated. The gorgeous scent also lingers on my skin which is great.

I absolutely love this scrub and I’m really pleased with the results, not only does it do a great job at exfoliating dull, dead skin…it is such a delight to use. Not bad for £6!

Alladale Wilderness Reserve, Scotland 2016

Alladale Wilderness Reserve its founder Paul Lister turned into a true wild Paradise. The reserve’s area is more than 9300 hectares. The whole territory is cultivated carefully in order to preserve and restore the natural flora and fauna for future generations. For these purposes, the most advanced approaches are used, including practice of returning plants and animals in the wilderness.

So, here in 2006, for the first time in the 4th century, in Scotland appeared first wild boar, and in the near future Mr. Lister plans to return to the territory of the reserve “big five” – boar, elk, bears, wolves and lynxes. Every year in Alladle are planted over 1000 new plants.

Natura Siberica team is very pleased to have the opportunity to visit this unique place and create together with Alladale new line of cosmetics!

The Sumarokov Elk’s Farm 2013

On the only elk’s farm in Russia near Kostroma medical elk’s milk is produced. To tame wild elk is impossible. An elk takes a milkmaid for a calf and therefore can be milked; it is a complicated and dangerous procedure.

An elk doesn’t have a gallbladder, so in its body doesn’t happen a fermentation process and all the nutrients of the plants are processed straight into milk. Thus, an elk is a “factory” for processing plants in therapeutic milk, which is hypoallergenic and 100% absorbed by skin. A wild elk consumes food of more than 200 species of wild berries, herbs and shrubs – rose, hawthorn, bark, branches, willow, willow, birch leaves, aspen, various roots and mushrooms.

Elk’s milk is unique in its composition. It contents fat from 14% to 18% and protein – up to 10%. There are 5 times more vitamins, trace elements and amino acids than in cow’s milk. Due to the high content of enzymes and proteins, elk’s milk has a strong moisturizing and anti-aging effect.

All the year round elks eat only fresh plants. They don’t get shots of antibiotics, just for prevention; do not get growth hormones to get faster yields. And indeed no artificial incentive intervention in elk’s life happens. And what is the result? As a result – organic elk’s milk!

The Republic of South-Africa 2013

Natura Siberica specialists joined Organic shop company in the expedition to the Republic of South Africa, where they studied traditional ways of harvesting plants as well as the methods of extracting pure essential oils.

The Republic of Khakassia

Khakassia Republic is a reserved area, located in southern Siberia. Here, locals gather for Natura Siberica wild grasses. Manual collection – very long and laborious process, but only from the collection of such plants can get the most saturated with vitamins and nutrients extracts and oils, based on which we build our makeup.

In addition, attracting residents of Khakassia to collect herbs, Natura Siberica creates new jobs and supports the traditions and culture of the people of old, engaged in the gathering.
